In response to a question from Prensa Latina, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning affirmed that Beijing always advocates for respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.

She also rejected violations of sovereignty and interference in the internal affairs of other nations under any pretext.

The spokesperson reaffirmed that China “firmly supports Cuba in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and development interests.”

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced the aggressive escalation by the United States government against his country the previous day at the UN Security Council and called for solidarity from the international community.

He later emphasized that “the filing of criminal charges against the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, is a morally infamous and legally arbitrary act.”

Rodriguez pointed out that “the President who gave that order for a military attack, and the Secretary of State and Secretary of War who instigated it, would go down in history as war criminals, direct perpetrators of crimes against humanity.”
