Laos: Parliamentarians concerned over US indictment of Raul Castro

Vientiane, May 27 (Prensa Latina) The Laos-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group expressed its deep concern regarding the criminal indictment issued by the United States Department of Justice against the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raul Castro.

A message signed by the group’s president, Chaleun Yiapaoher, also states that they are closely following the situation in Cuba and are deeply concerned about the current circumstances, stemming from the effects of more than 60 years of US blockade, intensified in recent times.

“The Laotian people, who have suffered for decades the consequences of wars of foreign aggression, value even more the significance of peace and cooperation for sustainable development,” the statement continues.
