Lux told Prensa Latina that she is following the situation on the Caribbean island and sees how it is being affected by the tightened US blockade.
Cuba is being deprived of sources for acquiring food and fuel, one of the most important and respected figures in the recent political history of this nation underscored.
Other US governments have even visited Cuba, and it is acceptable that this should be viewed in a fraternal way, with respect for its inhabitants, children, youth, and adults, the prominent Maya-K’iche’ leader, educator, and activist, one of the first women of Cuban descent to head a ministry, stated.
Lux considered the situation created on the island outrageous, “because we cannot treat each other with such indifference,” and everyone has the right to think as they wish, provided that communication prevails, among other things.
