“Putin congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, on Independence Day, the country’s national holiday. In his message, the Russian head of State emphasized the great importance Moscow attaches to its alliance and friendly relations with Baku,” the text published on the Kremlin website states.
“Please accept my sincerest congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday: the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the telegram from the Russian president reads.
Putin also noted that Russia attaches great importance to its friendly relations and alliance with Azerbaijan, and is confident that, through joint efforts, fruitful bilateral cooperation in various fields, as well as collaboration on regional and international issues, can be ensured.
For Russian president cooperation on regional and international issues serves the fundamental interests of the peoples of both countries and contributes to strengthening security in the South Caucasus and the Caspian Sea.
In closing, the Russian president wished Aliyev health and success, and the citizens of Azerbaijan well-being and prosperity.
