Brazilian FM attends strategic dialogue with China

Beijing, Jun 1 (Prensa Latina) Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira is participating in the 5th Global Strategic Talks between Brazil and China, a forum for exchanging views on bilateral, regional, and global issues.

The meeting is one of the leading spaces for political coordination between the two countries.

Invited by his counterpart, Wang Yi, Vieira will meet with Vice President Han Zheng and Commerce Minister Wang Wentao during his stay in China.

The South American foreign minister will also visit the National Museum, the venue for activities organized for the Brazil-China Cultural Year.

The Brazilian Foreign Ministry informed that trade between the two nations reached 170.9 billion dollars, consolidating China as the South American country’s leading trading partner.

Both nations are also founding members of the BRICS group and its New Development Bank (NDB), headquartered in Shanghai and currently led by former President Dilma Rousseff.
