The Zero Waste Foundation reported that the event will bring together government officials, business leaders, local authorities, academics, and representatives of international organizations to discuss strategies aimed at promoting sustainable development and strengthening global cooperation on environmental issues.
According to the organizing body, the forum will contribute to consolidating the international presence of the Zero Waste movement, an initiative boosted under the patronage of the First Lady of Turkiye, Emine Erdogan, who also chairs the United Nations High-Level Advisory Council on Zero Waste and serves as honorary president of the foundation.
The meeting will be the main event of Istanbul’s Zero Waste Week and will serve as a platform for exchanging experiences and formulating proposals to address contemporary environmental challenges.
During the working sessions, topics related to the circular economy, resource efficiency, climate-friendly production models, sustainable cities, the energy transition, and the economic use of waste will be addressed.
High-level ministerial sessions will also be held, focusing on strategic sectors for sustainable development, including energy and natural resources, agriculture, forestry, industry, and technology.
Participants will examine national experiences and cooperation mechanisms aimed at promoting joint policies that contribute to achieving international environmental goals.
