Moayyad Shaaban, head of the CWRC, criticized the new military order to expropriate land in the Jabal al-Fureidis area, east of Bethlehem Governorate, under the pretext of “developing the archaeological site.”

Shaaban stated that this is the third such order issued by the occupying authorities since early 2026, as part of an accelerated policy aimed at imposing legal and administrative control over Palestinian lands.

The Palestinian official warned that it aims to use these areas for colonial settlement projects.

Shaaban considered Israel’s expropriation policy in the West Bank to be one of the most dangerous tools used to impose the de facto annexation of Palestinian lands.
