A huge mural honoring the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, was simultaneously painted in Quilmes, Buenos Aires province.
It will be inaugurated on June 14, when Cubans celebrate the birthdays of independence patriot Antonio Maceo and Commander Ernesto “Che” Guevara.
Members of the Argentine-Cuban Friendship House in Neuquen joined forces with the Women and Collective Memory of Activist Muralists group, directed by renowned visual artist Elisa Algranati, to create a public artwork featuring figures such as Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos, Fidel Castro, Jose Marti, and the Cuban revolutionary struggle.
The mural was painted on the facade of a building adjacent to a square in a Neuquen neighborhood.
The report noted that the mural reflects the life of a free and sovereign people who honor their heroes, music, and dignity.
