He also thanked the members of the MININT “for watching over the tranquility of the Cuban people every day and for firmly upholding the work of the Revolution,” and also for “their courage and loyalty.”

“Behind each of its members, there is a story of dedication, sacrifice, and love for Cuba,” he emphasized, and wished that they will never lack “the strength that the people recognize and appreciate.”

The Ministry of the Interior (MININT) is an agency of the Central State Administration designated to organize, implement, and control the application of the Party and Government’s policies concerning State Security and Internal Order.

Its official website states that it “operates with the participation of the people in compliance with Socialist Legality and is capable of fulfilling its missions in times of peace and war, under any situation and conditions.”
