On Facebook, the Secretary of Organization of the PCC Central Committee described the inclusion of the Cuban president, Cuban institutions, civil society organizations, and companies on this “spurious, illegitimate, and unilateral list” as an infamous act, constituting a vile aggression that deserves the strongest condemnation.
Morales Ojeda stated that this measure is the latest evidence of Washington’s interventionist plan to “portray #Cuba as a threat to US national security, thus justifying its ongoing hostility against our nation.”
With the highest sense of patriotism, we denounce this interventionist maneuver that attacks the dignity and self-determination of the Cuban people, he emphasized.
The political leader asserted that every action by the US government aimed at creating a scenario of conflict between the two countries “is destined for utter failure.”
History has demonstrated, he stressed, that “Cuba’s sovereignty is not negotiable, nor will it yield to underhanded pressure.”
He reaffirmed that, faced with every threat against national independence, the response will be greater unity, greater awareness, and greater unwavering determination from our people to defend their project of a free and sovereign nation.
