The documents were signed at the Turkish Presidential Complex in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Nigerien counterpart, following official talks between the two delegations.

Among the agreements signed was a protocol for the implementation of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in higher education for the period 2026-2030, aimed at strengthening academic exchanges and human resource development.

The parties also signed a joint declaration for the creation of an economic and trade partnership committee, designed to expand investment and trade ties between the two countries.

A protocol was also signed regarding the joint management and transfer of the Turkish-Nigerian Friendship Hospital, considered one of the main healthcare cooperation projects between Ankara and Niamey.

The day also included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Diplomatic Academy of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Institute of Diplomatic and Strategic Studies of Niger, with the aim of promoting training and the exchange of experiences in the diplomatic field.

Tchiane’s visit to Ankara is at Erdoğan’s invitation and is part of the efforts of both governments to consolidate a strategic partnership in various sectors of common interest.
