In a letter addressed to the Cuban ambassador to Brazil, Victor Cairo, the union stated that this contribution is a form of assistance during the difficult time the Caribbean nation is experiencing “due to the unscrupulous intervention of the United States in the organization of the Cuban state.”
The CNTE is run by the autonomy and independence of peoples, in accordance with the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and has always acted in defense of Cuba and its people, the letter stated.
According to the confederation, the blockade, threats of intervention, and all forms of extortion boosted by the United States against the Cuban Revolution, and especially under the administration of Donald Trump, must be repudiated by pacifists worldwide.
“We hope that this modest contribution from Brazilian educators will help maintain some essential services on the island, such as medicine, access to electricity, among others.”
“All our support and solidarity with the Cuban people!” concluded the letter, signed by the president of the union organization, Fatima Silva.
In a message posted on the social network X, the Cuban ambassador expressed deep gratitude for the donation for the purchase of solar panels, a donation that adds to the numerous expressions of solidarity with Cuba expressed by Brazilian organizations and friends of the island.
