The collection of 33 books, comprises narration, poetry, theater, children’s and young adult literature, and arts, Guatemalan book designer Anderson Aquino told Prensa Latina in an exclusive interview.
This cooperation in the book sector extends to the Dulce Maria Loynaz Cultural Center and the Jose Marti National Library, both located in Havana, an initiative that, according to Aquino, contributes to strengthening ties with Cuba.
In the event, the designer shared with the audience the publishing process, the awards given, and the themes and guidelines that govern the work of the publishing house, all aimed at offering readers a high-quality product. She commented that 70% of the materials are donated to libraries and educational institutions in the country, while the remainder is for sale.
Another benefit of the publishing process is the publication of copies in several languages, in addition to Spanish, which diversifies their offerings and the reach of their content.
Marlene Vazquez, director of the institution, thanked the gesture and presented the Guatemalan professionals with the books *Jose Marti and the Hispanic-American Literary Society of New York: Sketch of a History*, by Enrique Lopez Mesa; and *I Have in My Heart: A Selection of Texts about Spain*, by the National Hero of Cuba.
This collaboration in the publishing field reaffirms the commitment of these entities to support access to reading and to content that promotes the rich culture of both nations.
