More than 350 works from 38 countries are participating in the second edition of the competition, dedicated this year to the analysis and criticism of cultural colonialism.

The exhibition “Caricature on Duty” will open at the headquarters of the National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC), in Havana.

Meanwhile, one of the main courses of the program will be the opening of the exhibition “Three Countries, Three Visions,” featuring the work of Mexican artist Victor Velez “Chubasco,” Belgian artist Luc Descheemaeker, winner of the first Biennial in 2024, and US artist Liza Donnelly, a contributor to The New Yorker newspaper.

These three visual artists are part of the jury for this biennial, along with the director of Juventud Rebelde newspaper, Adan Iglesias (president), and Ismael Lema, head of the Cuban graphic humor publication Palante.

The event will take place at UNEAC’s Villena Hall, where Aristides Hernandez (Ares), renowned Cuban cartoonist and member of the organizing committee, will deliver the opening remarks. jdt/iff/idm/vnl
