Italy opens exhibition on Cuban leader Fidel Castro

Rome, Jun 12 (Prensa Latina) An exhibition honoring Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, opens at Palazzo Bisaccioni in the Italian city of Jesi. The initiative is part of the activities to celebrate Fidel's 100th birthday.

The exhibition, which will remain open to the public until November 22, 2026, was organized by the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation of Ancona, in collaboration with the Cuban Embassy in Italy and the For a Dwarf Prince Association, comprised of Cuban residents in Italy.

It features more than 200 photos, unpublished documents, and personal items never before exhibited, commissioned directly by the Fidel Castro Center in Havana.

The exhibition was curated by Rene Gonzalez, director of that Cuban institution, and Mauro Tarantino, secretary general of the said Italian foundation.

The display, which will be opened in the presence of Cuban Ambassador to Italy, Jorge Luis Cepero, and Sissi Abay, Deputy Director of the Fidel Castro Center, is considered one of the largest exhibitions about the Cuban leader ever presented, marking his 100th birthday.

With the theme “Fidel: Story of a Leader. The Man Who Defied the Century,” the exhibition is divided chronologically, tracing the key stages of his life, from his birth on August 13, 1926, in Biran, Holguin province, to his death on November 25, 2016.
