Upon receiving Cuban Ambassador to this nation, Milena Zaldivar, on a courtesy visit, Samal gratefully acknowledged the contribution made by the island to the economic and social development of his country, which he assessed as a sign of trust between nations that admire each other.
“Cambodia maintains a firm commitment to the Cuban people,” affirmed the deputy foreign minister, who also remembered that the expressions of mutual support between the two nations have been consistently evident during difficult times.
Both sides reviewed, during the meeting, the milestones of the bilateral relationship over more than 66 years of diplomatic ties, highlighting in particular the cooperation programs developed in essential sectors such as education, health, agriculture, and sports.
Ambassador Zaldivar, in turn, praised the close bonds of friendship and solidarity that unite these two nations, as well as the Cambodian government’s willingness to boost a broad framework for cooperation that will deepen these ties and elevate them to reach new heights.
