Cuba reaffirms it does not reject or obstruct humanitarian aid

Havana, Jun 13 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reaffirmed that the island does not reject or obstruct aid offered without conditions, however cynical or ridiculous it may seem.

In a post on the social network X, he stated that the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, constantly and intentionally confuses the figures and responses from Cuba regarding the amounts of aid announced by his government since November of last year.

“It took them more than 6 months to finalize the shipment of the first aid package valued at 3 million USD. Nearly 4 months to send a portion of the announced 6 million USD.

How long could it take them to finalize the 100 million USD shipment? What can 100 million USD mean when their economic blockade and energy embargo cause annual losses of more than 5 billion USD?” Rodriguez stated.

He also noted that they lack any real interest in providing the aid and that so much lying and delaying only shows the blatant propaganda nature of these announcements.

“Wouldn’t it be more humanitarian to lift the illegal energy blockade?” he concluded.
