The event will bring together government representatives and representatives from multilateral organizations for an agenda that includes important regional and international meetings, consolidating Panama as a forum for political dialogue and hemispheric cooperation.
The source noted that the High-Level Week will include the 31st Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), scheduled for June 21, and the Meeting of Heads of State and Government, the following day.
Also planned are the 56th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS); the 11th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies (CoD); and the Global Leaders Forum.
Authorities pointed out that several parallel and complementary meetings will also take place throughout the week.
The Amphictyonic Congress of Panama is considered one of the foundational milestones of multilateral diplomacy in the Americas.
It was convened by Liberator Simon Bolivar and inaugurated on June 22, 1826, in the then Panama City.
