LASP also rejected the US measures against the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP), an institution it considers an important bastion of global solidarity.
The statement stated that the Angolan organization joins those who “vehemently repudiate the US conspiracy against Cuba, and those who condemn the blockade and sanctions under the ignoble argument that the Caribbean nation is a terrorist state.”
In this regard, it asserts that it is the island that has been the victim of chaos, terrorism, and US barbarity over the years.
The organization criticized the classification of ICAP as a terrorist threat or as having negative implications, given that it is an institution with which LAASP maintains close and unwavering relations of friendship, solidarity, and peace.
LAASP, which demands respect for Cuba, stated that this represents an escalation within the mechanisms of economic warfare already being applied to the Caribbean nation
It also stated that Cuba has faced an economic, commercial, and financial blockade for more than 60 years, in addition to more than 240 unilateral coercive measures and an oil embargo since January 29th.
