According to the the minister, as of June 7, crimes registered in the national territory decreased by 13.7 percent compared to the same period of 2025.

Regarding kidnappings, Arrau announced that the creation of an observatory for this type of crime is in progress.

With regard to the fight against narcotics, in the first half of 2026 the Investigative Police seized a total of 20,813 kilos of drugs, while Carabineros (a type of riot police) seized 49,000.

The goods affected by drug trafficking exceed five billion pesos (5.6 million dollars), reported the Ministry of Security.
