Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian affirmed that since its establishment the SCO has become the world’s largest comprehensive regional cooperation organization in terms of both territory and population.

Lin noted that member countries have upheld, for the last 25 years, the “Shanghai Spirit,” based on mutual trust, shared benefits, and cooperation, to expand political, security, economic, and cultural ties.

The spokesperson stated that the SCO has established a unique path for regional cooperation and has contributed to strengthening security, cooperation, and friendship among its members.

Lin pointed out that China considers the SCO a priority in its diplomacy with neighboring countries, and President Xi Jinping has put forward proposals for building a community with a shared future within the framework of the organization.
