Social movements, political organizations, labor unions, and leftist youth groups also raised their voices to demand internationalist solidarity with Cuba.
The demonstrators took advantage of the occasion to denounce the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States, describing it as a policy of strangulation against the Cuban people.
In the march’s significant visual display, signs and banners with clear slogans such as “Hands off Cuba” and the demand for an immediate end to the blockade stood out.
Likewise, Cuban and Palestinian flags accompanied the various political, labor, and student organizations in their demands. Also frequent and forceful were the messages calling for an end to Washington’s hostility and condemning the threats of military intervention in Cuba.
