The UN mechanism points out that in a world marked by the changes brought about by technological acceleration, the area faces the urgent challenge of ensuring that these processes effectively contribute to an inclusive society.

Only in this way, the event’s invitation adds, will it be possible to overcome the three development traps: low growth capacity; high inequality and limited social mobility and cohesion; and poor institutional capacity and ineffective governance.

During the three-day seminar, participants could share experiences, best practices, and proposals aimed at closing the digital gap and moving toward fairer societies in the region.

The program includes three keynote lectures given by renowned academicians from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of Oxford.

This meeting, which will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and online), will seek to continue the commitments made at the 2nd World Summit for Social Development, held in Qatar in 2025.
