The corresponding decree, published on the legal news website this Tuesday, stated that the amendments refer to the presidential decree of March 31, 2022, on the special procedure for fulfilling the obligations of foreign buyers.

Now, fuel payments can be made not only through Gazprombank but also through accounts at other Russian credit institutions.

The new regulations will be in effect until October 1, 2026.

The respective amendments were introduced in Decree 172 of March 31, 2022, entitled “On the Special Regulations for the Fulfillment by Foreign Buyers of Their Commitments to Russian Natural Gas Suppliers.”

The new text specifies that the buyers from unfriendly countries could make payments for Russian gas in rubles through credit institutions, apart from Gazprombank, until October 1, 2026.
