The comment was made during a telephone conversation between Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his counterpart Wang Yi, the Foreign Ministry confirmed.
Both dignitaries welcomed the agreements reached in the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, which they described as an important step toward promoting sustainable peace and stability in the region.
According to the diplomatic source, Wang Yi commended Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic work and strong mediation efforts, which contributed to creating favorable conditions for sustained dialogue.
He also acknowledged Pakistan’s vital contribution to advancing international peace and stability.
For his part, the Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister acknowledged Beijing’s significant contributions to restoring regional peace and stability, highlighting in particular President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposal and the Pakistan-China five-point initiative.
Both ministers also stressed the importance of implementing the agreements reached between the parties and maintaining continuous dialogue for the peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues.
They noted the importance of opening the Strait of Hormuz for the global economy, energy security, and international trade.
They also discussed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China and agreed to closely monitor its outcomes and proceed with their implementation.
Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of working together on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0 and further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the economic and investment sectors.
