The initiative, implemented in the main city of this northeastern province and the towns of Mayari and Moa, focuses on assisting social protection institutions.
Alberto Reyes, coordinator general of the project in this province, explained that resources such as solar panels, refrigerators, and several kitchen utensils will be provided.
These actions will improve hygiene and food preparation conditions for the benefit of patients, students, and staff at special education schools and maternity homes.
With over six decades of work in the Caribbean nation, the WFP boosts food security through agroecological resilience and the strengthening of community protection networks.
