The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that the exodus occurred after a series of airstrikes considered the most intense since the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, which includes measures to reduce hostilities in the region and preserve the security of Lebanese territory.

According to the report, the displaced are seeking refuge in areas considered safer, just days after thousands of residents returned to their towns following the announcement of the agreement between Washington and Tehran.

Since early Friday morning, the Israeli attacks have killed at least 28 people and left several wounded in different towns and villages in southern Lebanon, according to official figures. The national news agency reported that the bombings hit homes and residential areas, describing the day as one of the most difficult since the start of the Israeli offensive on March 2.

For its part, the Israeli army confirmed the operations and asserted that they targeted Hezbollah positions and infrastructure, arguing that they were in response to alleged repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Lebanese movement.

The new wave of displacement revives the humanitarian crisis that has gripped southern Lebanon in recent months, where more than a million people have been forced to flee their homes due to the military escalation and border clashes.

Ataques israelíes provocan desplazamiento masivo en el sur de Líbano

Beirut, 19 jun (Prensa Latina) Cientos de familias abandonaron hoy sus hogares en los distritos libaneses de Tiro y Bint Jbeil con destino a Sidón y Beirut, tras la intensificación de los bombardeos israelíes contra el sur del país.

La Agencia Nacional de Noticias de Líbano (NNA)informó que el éxodo se produjo después de una serie de ataques aéreos considerados los más intensos desde el reciente acuerdo entre Estados Unidos e Irán, que contempla medidas para reducir las hostilidades en la región y preservar la seguridad del territorio libanés.

Según el reporte, los desplazados buscan refugio en zonas consideradas más seguras, pocos días después de que miles de residentes retornaran a sus localidades tras el anuncio del entendimiento entre Washington y Teherán.

Desde la madrugada del viernes, los ataques israelíes causaron la muerte de al menos 28 personas y dejaron varios heridos en diferentes pueblos y aldeas del sur libanés, de acuerdo con cifras oficiales.

La agencia nacional informó que los bombardeos alcanzaron viviendas y áreas residenciales, y calificó la jornada como una de las más difíciles desde el inicio de la ofensiva israelí el pasado 2 de marzo.

Por su parte, el ejército israelí confirmó las operaciones y aseguró que estuvieron dirigidas contra posiciones e infraestructura de Hizbulá, al argumentar que respondían a supuestas violaciones reiteradas del acuerdo de alto el fuego por parte del movimiento libanés.

La nueva ola de desplazamientos revive la crisis humanitaria registrada en los últimos meses en el sur de Líbano, donde más de un millón de personas se han visto obligadas a abandonar sus hogares debido a la escalada militar y los enfrentamientos en la frontera.
