According to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), the attacks hit residential areas and various towns in the Nabatieh Governorate, where most of the fatalities were reported.
The official media outlet reported that 16 people died in attacks on Harouf, Ashamiyah, Sharqiyah, Doueir, and Kfarsir, while other bombings and drone strikes left additional victims on nearby roads and in nearby towns.
Seven people were killed in an attack on a residential building in Al-Duwayr, and further airstrikes hit the towns of Rihan and areas in the Baalbek region, where more deaths and injuries were reported, bringing the death toll to 28.
The offensive included attacks on numerous towns in southern Lebanon, including Kfar Tebnit, Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Kfarman, Zibdin, Haboush, Sajd, Jebchit, and Al-Qusaybah, as well as targets in the Bekaa Valley in the east of the country.
For its part, the Israeli army confirmed the operations and asserted that they targeted Hezbollah positions and infrastructure, claiming it was responding to alleged repeated ceasefire violations by the Lebanese movement.
The escalation occurred just hours after Hezbollah announced an operation against Israeli forces in the Ali al-Taher area of southern Lebanon, where it claimed to have destroyed several tanks and inflicted casualties on enemy troops.
