The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates warned in a statement that this strategy represents a dangerous escalation of violence and a flagrant violation of international law. The diplomatic institution warned that those plans would reduce the chances of peace and stability in the Middle East while generating more tension.
In light of this situation, the Ministry called on the international community to assume “its legal and moral responsibilities” and pressure the occupying authorities of that country to force them to halt all colonial activities.
Palestinian National Council (PNC) Chairman Rawhi Fattouh stated the same opinion and rejected the expansion of the Israeli settlements of Mitzpe Yericho and Karnei Shomron.
Fattouh stated, “Such a strategy confirms the systematic ethnic cleansing projects being carried out by the far-right, racist coalition government of that nation against our people.”
