Bolivian pianist anchores in Havana with unique pieces

Havana, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) The art of Bolivian pianist Sergio Escalera anchores in Havana with a musical performance featuring his own compositions and works by Latin American composers.

  The event at the Casa Vitier Garcia Marruz, in Havana’s Old Section, promises a display of sounds and rhythms that are both innovative and internationally acclaimed.

  The young artist fuses traditional music from the Andes and the Amazon with contemporary jazz, in dialogue with creations by the French composer Claude Debussy, the Cuban institution highlighted on its Facebook page.

  The Bolivian musician’s performance is “a unique opportunity” to enjoy new melodies and discover the work of this performer.

  Born on May 2, 1991, in Cochabamba, Bolivia, Sergio Escalera is renowned for his virtuosity at the piano and for a body of work he has shared with audiences at festivals, competitions, concerts, and other musical events.

  Based in Switzerland, the pianist has performed in Italy, Germany, Poland, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Iraq, Armenia, and Turkey, among other countries.
