Gaza, the clearest example of forced displacement, says Ankara

Ankara, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) The head of the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate, Burhanettin Duran, stated that the tragedy in Gaza Strip is one of the most serious cases of forced displacement and suffering of the civilian population in the contemporary world.

In a message published on the Turkish social network InSocial, on the occasion of World Refugee Day, the official noted that millions of people have been forced to leave their homes due to conflicts, wars, and persecution, in a trend he described as alarming.

Duran focused his statement on the situation in Gaza, where he denounced the humanitarian impact of the Israeli offensive, which has caused the loss of thousands of lives and the destruction of a large part of the civilian infrastructure, directly affecting women, children, and the elderly.

He stressed that the crisis in the Palestinian enclave represents “a call to the conscience of humanity” in the face of the suffering of the civilian population, forced to confront the loss of their homes, families, and fundamental rights.

The Turkish official emphasized that solidarity with peoples affected by conflict and the defense of human dignity should not be considered political options, but rather ethical responsibilities of the international community.

He also remembered the position of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in defense of the rights of Palestinians and for greater international involvement in the search for solutions to humanitarian crises.

Duran called on strengthening global efforts to find lasting solutions to forced displacement and to move towards a more just international order, in which no one is forced to leave their place of origin.
