ACCRA expressed, “along with the Cubans grateful to the Revolution,” who live in this African nation, its deepest sorrow for the demise of the man they considered one of Cuba’s most illustrious sons and an exemplary combatant of the Centennial Generation.
The message reads, “A man whose life was entirely dedicated to the struggle for independence, sovereignty, social justice, and the defense of the Cuban Revolution has disappeared with his death.”
The text added that, since the attack on the Moncada Garrison in the Santiago de Cuba province in 1953, passing through his imprisonment, the Granma yacht expedition, the armed struggle in the Sierra Maestra mountain range, and the construction of the revolutionary project, “Ramiro Valdes embodied the highest values of loyalty, steadfastness, discipline, and commitment to the Homeland.”
ACCRA stated, “Loyal to Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, his comrades in arms, and the Moncada Program, Valdes dedicated every day of his life to serving the Cuban people, becoming a moral and political role model for several generations of revolutionaries.”
