The formal delivery will be made by lawyers Nelson Hadad and Paula Abugattas, as well as activist Jihad Shahwan, at the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), a UN organization.
The initiative aims to get the member States of the multilateral organization to assess excluding Israel from that forum for violating its founding principles and for the genocide committed in Gaza.
Hadad recently told Prensa Latina, “We are facing an unprecedented situation in the history of the United Nations because Israel does not comply with any of the resolutions issued in favor of Palestine, not even the one on the establishment of two States.”
He denounced that the regime of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has committed the worst crimes defined in the Rome Statute, such as the crimes of aggression, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide.
The letter addressed to Guterres urges him to boost the application of Resolution 377 A (V), a mechanism that empowers the General Assembly to act if the Security Council fails to fulfill its duty to maintain world peace due to a veto by one of its permanent members.
