Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun noted that Foreign Minister Wang Yi is participating in New Delhi in the 16th Meeting of BRICS High Representatives on Security.
Wang met, during his stay in that capital, with India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval.
Guo pointed out that the current situation on the China-India border remains generally stable and there are smooth communication channels between the two sides.
The spokesperson explained that the two countries are working on implementing the consensus reached during the 24th meeting of special representatives on the border issue, while both sides are making preparations for the 25th meeting of this mechanism.
China-India talks on border issues are being conducted under the special representatives mechanism established in 2003, to find a suitable solution to the border dispute and boost the stable development of bilateral relations.
