The Defense Ministry previously informed that some 408,000 men and women from the Armed Forces and the National Police are deployed across the country as part of the so-called Democracy Plan, designed to ensure public safety during the elections.
The military institution also affirmed that the State has activated continuous monitoring to combat disinformation and has prioritized 90 areas after analyzing more than 208,000 intelligence data points.
The international observer mission in the country has more than 1,000 delegates from some 20 countries, and they will be joined by over 15,000 national observers.
A dry law has been in effect in Colombia since Saturday, so the sale of alcoholic beverages is not allowed, while river and land border crossings have been closed as a precautionary measure.
