Rodriguez stated in a message posted on X that Washington has no right to judge the measures adopted by Cuba to confront, in the exercise of its sovereignty and self-determination, the effects of extreme economic aggression, tightened by the energy blockade and secondary sanctions on third parties.
The foreign minister underscored that the opinion of the US government on what should be done to overcome long-standing shortcomings and adapt the Cuban socialist model to new national and international realities is also irrelevant.
The diplomat reiterated that Cuba is “outside the borders of the United States, has conquered, defends, and will defend its sovereignty with huge effort and total determination, and rejects with equal firmness foreign interference in its internal affairs.”
The National People’s Power Assembly approved 146 measures, grouped into 23 strategic issues, in a special session aimed at transforming the current economic and social model to ensure the preservation of the Cuban socialist system in the face of the United States’ aggressive policies.
