In his message posted on the social network X, the president dedicated a special greeting to five-time Olympic champion Mijain Lopez, whom he described as an “earthly hero who descends from Olympus every day to be with his children, Mijailcito and Nayha” (his children)
“The only thing that can defeat five-time champion Mijain is the love of his children. Every day he comes down from Olympus to be the earthly hero of Mijailcito and Nayha,” Díaz-Canel wrote.
For his part, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero expressed on the same social media platform:
“Today we celebrate those men who, with love, dedication, and courage, build homes, educate by example, and defend their families in every battle. Happy Father’s Day!”
Father’s Day is celebrated in Cuba every third Sunday of June, a date that recognizes the fundamental role of fathers in the formation of new generations and in building the values that distinguish Cuban society.
