The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting, led by India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, will foster discussion on the changing nature of humanity’s challenges, as well as on the role of new technologies in emerging threats.
The results of recent meetings of the BRICS joint working groups on counterterrorism and cybersecurity will also be reviewed.
Press reports stated that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Iran’s Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Ghadir Nezami, have arrived in New Delhi for the event.
India’s BRICS Chairship in 2026 is guided by the motto “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability,” which, according to New Delhi, indicates a people-centered approach that prioritizes humanity.
BRICS cooperation extends its reach to a range of global issues, including the fight against terrorism, climate change, food and energy security, the international economic and financial situation, telecommunications, agriculture, labor and employment, the international financial architecture, trade, and the WTO.
