“The US government, led by its dishonest and mendacious secretary of State, continues to tighten the siege around Cuba’s economy, as it has proven stronger, more capable, and more effective than he expected in the face of the ruthless aggression and collective punishment against the people and their living conditions.”
Rodriguez made this remark after the US Department of State announced the designation of five Cuban entities under Executive Order 14404, signed by President Donald Trump in May 2026.
The new sanctioned entities include the International Financial Bank, Rafin S.A., Almacenes Universales, the GeoMinera enterprise, and the Jose Marti Steel Company, as well as official Annalie Lilliam Rueda Cardero.
The foreign minister affirmed, “What this individual is promoting from the world’s greatest power is a crime.”
Rodriguez added that the White House is once again accusing Cuba of being a threat “to US National Security and Foreign Policy.”
