The politician stated after speaking at the Primakov Readings forum that those forces intend to destabilize the situation near the CIS borders and revive latent points of tension.
Lebedev affirmed that security issues are of utmost importance to the community.
The secretary general noted, “The CIS border perimeter is subject to a systemic destabilizing influence. We are witnessing attempts by external actors to sow discord in relations between our countries, revive frozen conflicts, and cause new points of tension.” The Association’s leader emphasized the importance of protecting sovereignty. He said the union systematically defends the principles of indivisible security and categorically opposes interference in the domestic affairs of independent states.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn, noted the emergence of new sources of instability near the borders of the Commonwealth’s member states.
