Mexico prepares to send rescue personnel for Venezuela after quakes

Mexico City, Jun 25 (Prensa Latina) Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her solidarity with Venezuela and instructed the deployment of specialized rescue and medical personnel following dual earthquakes in that nation.

Sheinbaum stated, “Our solidarity is with the people of Venezuela.

The Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE) has been in contact with the government of that nation, and I have already instructed the preparation of the necessary aid.”

“They have requested so far support with specialized rescue and medical personnel,” the president wrote on X, after underscoring that “Mexico always is and always will be in solidarity.”

Two earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale and more than 20 aftershocks, shook several northern states of Venezuela.

Acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez, on national television, declared the state of emergency to ensure a rapid and robust institutional response to the earthquakes’ aftermath.
