“The arrival in Venezuela of a group of Cuban rescue workers to assist in the search for trapped individuals and support our medical brigade constitutes further proof of Cuba’s unwavering solidarity with the fraternal Venezuelan people,” Rodriguez wrote on the social media platform X.

A group of Cuban rescue workers arrived in Caracas on Sunday to reinforce the Caribbean nation’s medical brigade in search and rescue operations within the regions affected by two major earthquakes that occurred recently.

The team members were welcomed by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Minister for Latin America, Mauricio Rodriguez, and by Cuba’s ambassador to the country, Jorge Mayo Fernandez.

Cuban medical brigades remain in Venezuela; since the immediate aftermath of the earthquakes recorded last Wednesday, they have been participating in treating the injured and providing other forms of assistance.
