In her message, the popular artist clarifies to the new leader that she is writing simply as a Colombian who loves her country, noting that now that the campaign is over, the hardest part begins: steering the destiny of all citizens.
“There are millions of Colombians who believe in you, and there are millions who think differently, dream differently, and voted differently. I want to ask you to remember, every day, that the power you received a week ago is not a trophy, not a prize—it is a responsibility,” she wrote.
Karol G asked De la Espriella to listen to those who elected him, but also to those who did not.
She expressed the view that the country needs leaders capable of uniting people, as well as courageous decisions and tangible results.
“I hope that when your term ends, we Colombians can look back and say that, beyond our differences, you rose to the challenge of the responsibility you were given. Because, in the end, no president wins simply by winning an election… A president wins when their people win,” the singer concluded.
