The Syrian Foreign Ministry stated that the military incursions and artillery shelling of populated areas violate Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as international law, the United Nations Charter, and the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement.
The Ministry also warned that the continuation of these actions undermines efforts to strengthen security and stability, exacerbates the suffering of the civilian population, and increases the risk of further escalation of tensions in the region.
The diplomatic institution urged the United Nations and the international community to assume their responsibilities and take measures to end repeated Israeli violations, ensure compliance with the Disengagement of Forces Agreement, and preserve Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Earlier, Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on the village of Abdeen and its surroundings in the Daraa province with artillery shells and gunfire from attack helicopters.
