The Cuban roster for the tournament—scheduled for August 21–23—comprises two catchers, six infielders, four outfielders, and eight pitchers, all under the guidance of manager Guillermo Carmona.
BDaniel Fernandez and Alexei Febles have been named as catchers, while the outfield selections include Yassel Izaguirre, Osman Caruncho, Maikol Barroso, and Hanyelo Videt (from Matanzas), who led the batting rankings in the recently concluded Elite League.
The infield contingent includes Rafael Alvarez, Juan Perez, Carlos Nieto, and Norge Torres, alongside Jean Baldoquin and Leonardo Alarcon, who are returning from the previous squad.
Guided by coaches Marcos Fonseca and Reynier Madruga, the pitching staff features standout right-handers Fher Cejas, Yosney Garcia, and Silvio Iturralde, all of whom have prior experience with national teams in lower age categories.
The Cuban team will compete in the tournament—to be held in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo—as part of their preparations for the world championship for this age group, scheduled for November of this year.
