Russia attacks Ukrainian port infrastructure with missiles and drones

Moscow, Jul 12 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Armed Forces carried out a combined missile and drone attack on two ports in southern Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense reported.

“As a result, port infrastructure targets in Odesa and Chornomorsk—used for the unloading and storage of military-grade goods and fuel—were struck,” the military agency announced on its official Telegram channel.

The ministry further added that the attack “hit vessels and a ferry transporting such cargoes to Ukrainian ports.”

Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine. According to President Vladimir Putin, its objectives are to protect the population of the Donbas from “genocide by the Kyiv regime” and to counter the national security risks posed by the eastward expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Ukrainian troops receive military support from this 32-nation alliance, led by the United States and comprising the United Kingdom and the majority of European Union countries.
