Cuban Ambassador to China, Alberto Blanco Silva, stressed that educational cooperation between the two countries has been a lasting bridge between generations and a noble expression of bilateral friendship.

Blanco Silva remembered that the program, which operated between 2006 and 2016, trained 3,497 young Chinese people from 29 provinces in intensive Spanish language courses.

The Cuban ambassador noted that the history of educational cooperation between Cuba and China began in 1963 with the arrival of 17 Cuban scholarship students to China to study Chinese language.

A year later, in 1964, Cuba welcomed 108 young Chinese students who began studying Spanish, marking the beginning of a relationship that extended far beyond the classrooms.

The talk also took place within the framework of the commemorative activities for the 100th birthday of Fidel Castro, the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution and the architect of educational collaboration between the two nations.
