On his account on the social network X, Rodriguez extended his condolences to Roa Kouri’s family, as well as to the staff of the Caribbean nation’s Foreign Ministry and the Institute of International Relations.
According to the Board of Directors of the Raul Roa Garcia Honorary Chair—of which the deceased served as president—his passing at the age of 90 represents a significant loss for Cuban diplomacy and for those privileged enough to have known his exemplary dedication to service, his integrity, and his wisdom.
In its official statement, the Chair also highlights Roa Kouri’s unwavering commitment to preserving and disseminating the ideas and work of his father, Raul Roa Garcia, the “Chancellor of Dignity.”
The institution underscored how he consistently honored the legacy of a family deeply committed to Cuba’s sovereignty and dignity.
The Chair pays tribute to the memory of a man who will remain a benchmark for revolutionary diplomacy and the defense of the principles that distinguish the Cuban nation.
