US Secretary of State Marco Rubio convened a meeting last week in Washington against progressivism, which he is attempting to associate with violence and terrorism.
The PCCh warned in a statement published in this capital that the meeting, boosted by the White House, seeks to establish a protocol for the global persecution of movements that fight for peace and human rights.
It noted that this harassment includes the blockade against countries with different orientations, sanctions on those who support them, and the persecution of humanitarian aid to people affected by conflicts provoked by the intervention of Donald Trump and his administration.
“This campaign aims to revive McCarthyism,” said the Communist Party, referring to the period of intense political and ideological persecution in the United States (1950-1954), led by Republican Senator Joseph McCarthy.
