The award for the best fiction film went to “Rainbow” (Ranginkaman), directed by Iranian filmmaker Saleh Alavizadeh, a co-production between Iran, the Czech Republic, and Germany.
The Lucia award for the best short-length film went to “El Ultimo Juego” (The Last Game), by Cuban filmmaker Daniel Chile.
The jury awarded, in the documentary category, “Lorca en La Habana” (Lorca in Havana), by Spaniards Jose Antonio Torres and Antonio Manuel, and “Sunday” by Italian Giuliani Tonicelli, as best short-length film. The winning animated film was “Sana” (Heal), by Peruvian Manu Larios.
The Humberto Solas Award, which recognizes projects in development, went to “En Medio de la Tormenta” (In the Middle of the Storm) by Colombian Edna Sierra.
The jury also granted special mentions to Neurotica Anonima (Anonymous Neurotic), by Jorge Perugorria; Primera Ensenanza (Primary Education), by Aria Sanchez and Marina Meira; Lo Mas Maravilloso (The Most Wonderful Thing), by Mauricio Centurion; El Monstruo del Miedo (The Fear Monster), by Eduardo Padrao and Andrew Gledson; and La Nina y el Mar (The Girl and the Sea), by Ray Ortega Moreno.
